Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Structural Superintendent to oversee field construction activities on large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors and field crews, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily field operations and supervise construction activities from planning through completion.
Coordinate subcontractors, craft labor, equipment, materials, and site logistics.
Ensure work is performed according to project drawings, specifications, schedule, and contractual requirements.
Monitor field productivity and identify potential schedule, safety, or constructability issues.
Provide field interpretation of plans and specifications and assist with construction methods and sequencing.
Work closely with Project Managers to develop and maintain project schedules and site logistics plans.
Maintain compliance with project-specific safety requirements and site safety plans.
Coordinate with owners, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Ensure efficient utilization of labor, materials, and equipment.
Maintain quality standards and support timely project completion.
Perform additional project responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
15+ years of construction experience.
10+ years of Superintendent experience on heavy civil projects.
Experience managing construction on projects valued at $200M+.
Strong experience with bridge, highway, transportation, transit, or major infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of U.S. construction methods, field operations, sequencing, and safety standards.
Experience working with city, state, or federal government/public works clients preferred.
Knowledge of contract requirements, subcontractor management, and union/craft labor environments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, or similar construction software.
OSHA and First Aid certifications preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
